Thought we could answer a few of your questions here. If there is a question you have and we have not answered it please feel free to give us a call. Ph 03 58742313
1. Are you dog friendly? Yes, for most of the year!.. but due to the sheer number of dogs at Peak times and many irresponsible dog owners not following the general rules, we have had to review our policy. Our free-for-all dog friendly policy meant we had more dogs than people here some times and difficulty policing them to make owners accountable. We LOVE dogs and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience to all the responsible owners this change affects.
Over long weekends and public holiday periods, we can only have a small number of dogs approved on some sites and cabins. These sites and cabins are much sort after, so booking ahead is ESSENTIAL and there will be an additional fee.
2. Are you near the river? We are 500mts from the magnificent Murray River, this is where you will find 2 boat ramps for easy access. 500mts is also where the main street is located. Everything that you will need right in the one spot.
3. Can we have fires? Yes, provided you meet the terms and conditions imposed upon us by our Insurer. Must have a firepit with solid walls and 300mm from ground; must have 10L bucket of water nearby to extinguish the fire. All campfires must be first approved by management
4. Is your pool heated? Our pool is solar heated and we check regularly to make sure that the temperature matches the day. Please bear in mind that if it is not sunny our pool is not warm...just saying.
5. What is your cheapest accommodation? Our accommodation starts at $130.00 for a motel room for 2 people, and ranges in price from $190.00 off peak, for 2 people, for one of our Poolside Villas. We always recommend you give us a call so we can find accommodation that best suits you and your family.
6. What time can we check in? Check in time is 12.00 noon for powered ensuite sites and sites. This is to allow us time to water and mow. The groundsman works very hard to make sure that our grass is nice and green and welcoming especially over the hot summer months. Check in is 2.00pm for cabins, motels and villas. Like our groundsman the housekeeping staff work as hard to make sure all is ready for you to kick back and relax the moment you arrive. Check out for all accommodation types is 10.00am on day of departure.
NB....EARLY arrivals and LATE departures may be available for a fee.
7. What can the kids do while in your park? Here at Boomerang Way we have a playground, giant chess pieces, a games room as well as the pool. There is are several large grassed areas where you can play cricket, footy or just goof around. All we ask is that you keep in mind other guests and noise must be kept to a minimum after 10.00pm
8. Minimum stays over peak periods? Yes we do have minimum stays over the Christmas/New Year period and this is also the same for Easter and long weekends.
9. What is there to do in Tocumwal? There is a free splash park at the Foreshore as well as monthly markets. Fishing is always a great way to enjoy the river and cray season is from June-August each year. You can also hire stand-up paddle boards and kayaks from our friends at Murray SUP. Having your photo taken with the Big Fish (Murray) is definitely a must do, as is Koala spotting along the river and bushwalks. A friendly round of golf or bowls at the Club Tocumwal, or grab some dinner, maybe dance to some live music while the kids hang in the play room. All of our pubs (& some restaurants/café) are dog friendly, most have playgrounds or games for the kids. Tocumwal has many walking/bike tracks to enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna around us. Tocumwal Aerodrome Museum is great for all ages and be sure to look up at any time of the year to see our very active pilots flying all sorts of planes and gliders. You can even go up for a joy flight. Great Coffee & Cake too !!! at the Drome Cafe Check out the Historic Railway bridge at sunset, it looks fabulous. A visit to the Information Centre will provide you with many and varied local items made and cooked, as well as being a great place to find other things to see and do. Barooga Sporties is only a 15min drive from us and has a 9 hole mini golf course and a fabulously fun indoor games bunker, perfect for entertainment on a rainy day. Barooga also has Botanical Gardens to meander through. The Big Strawberry, Koonoomoo, just 10 mins over the border into VIC. A further 10 mins from The Big Strawberry is Cobram, with a cinema, great skate park and playground. Berrigan, a short half hour drive now boasts an Old book shop, antique stores and a gallery. It is best to google or facebook them as they have varying hours. On the way you could call into Finley, they have a foundry museum, historic log cabin precinct and a railway precinct. Not far up the road is Jerilderie, Ned Kelly made an appearance here and a walk around the lake is said to be surprising. Corowa is an hour away and there you will find a Chocolate and whisky factory, mmmmmm Yarrawonga/Mulwala, 40 min away and on the way there, Byramine homestead is a beautiful historic attraction to see.
You can always just sit back and relax with an ice cream and cold drink from the office Kiosk. We don't mind if you put your feet up, we may get jealous but we won't mind. Our reception staff are always happy to help where we can with
